I am originally from Alton, Illinois which is right across the river from St. Louis so I am a lover or Cardinals Baseball and Imos Pizza! I grew up going to an United Church of Christ and my interest for Youth Ministry was first peaked in Middle School from attending youth group. Over the next couple of years that interest continued to grow and culminated the summer after my senior year of High School on a mission trip where I heard God officially call me into ministry. I attended Huntington University where I majored in Youth Ministry and minored in Biblical Studies. While on campus I served as an RA for one year and a youth group volunteer at various churches. I spent seven months in Rock Creek, Ohio at Eagleville Bible Church as the Youth Ministry Intern the summer after junior year and first semester of senior year. I graduated from HU in May of 2015. Before coming to The Pointe in November of 2015 I worked at The Boys and Girls Club of Huntington.
My favorite scripture verse is James 1:27, “Religion that is pure and faultless before God, the Father, is this: to visit widows and orphans in their afflictions, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.” I believe that my role in God’s Kingdom is to meet with those in this world who are still orphans and help them find their place in the family of God. Working with the middle school students here at The Pointe has been a challenging and rewarding task and I look forward to all that The Lord has to provide here.
