DESCRIPTION
"Fellowship" in the Greek means deep bonds, communion, partaking in a shared purpose, and communication. This new grow group seeks to cultivate fellowship - especially for those near Columbia City. We feel that fellowship is for everyone and welcome all ages and marital statuses to the group (although we may occasionally plan an adults-only gathering).

Proximity makes it easier to do life together. Because of this, we're placing location as a higher priority than schedule. We will always be meeting close to Columbia City / Coesse to foster local connections (although anyone is welcome).

Timing will be consistent but flexible and not overwhelming. We will meet once a month, beginning at our home (close to HWY 30 & S 500 E). The first gathering will be Friday night Oct 14th beginning at 6:30pm. We will set up a group chat or private Facebook group to connect beforehand and plan future dates. Informal gatherings may happen more frequently / organically but the foundation will be a monthly gathering.

Meals give us time to connect and do something that we're already doing - eat! Our group will use a pitch-in style and ensure that our bodies are fed along with our spirits.

Shared Purposes keep people together. Since this group is new, we will start by simply learning about each other and building the group's DNA. Depending on the size and makeup of who joins, we may add opportunities to gather or encourage smaller subgroups to pursue deeper connections over shared passions.

We (Doug and Sarah) are reading "Find Your People" by Jennie Allen as a foundation for building friendships in close proximity. We intend to use principles from this book to guide our group; feel free to read it!

ABOUT US
We are the Haags: Doug (41), Sarah (40), and Koen (9). We moved from Indianapolis to Columbia City (along with Sarah's mother) in May 2022 and are seeking to put roots down in our local community (our first Sunday at The Pointe was at the end of June). We enjoy the outdoors, traveling, and staying active. Our careers and creative passions include live music & touring, business management & analysis, and martial arts / self-defense. Koen enjoys Legos, playing Nintendo Switch, and all things cars & trucks.
